What the OrthIQsleeve does
OrthIQ is a smart wearable that patients put on for their exercises. The sleeve connects to an app on their phone, and you record a reference rep with each patient in the clinic. The app scores every rep they do afterward against that one.
What's in the sleeve
A 3D OrthIQ sleeve on a see-through arm. As you scroll, the sleeve slides off, the sensor band lifts away from the elbow and the module separates, then the parts go back together.
- 01The sleeve
Worn over the joint
Patients pull the sleeve on before they start their exercises. It stays in place through each set.
- 02Sensors
Inside the fabric
Sensors inside the sleeve capture how the joint moves on every rep. Patients don't have to attach or line up anything.
- 03Module
A small module on the sleeve
The module sends each rep to the OrthIQ app on the patient's phone.
- 04App
Every rep goes to the app
The app compares each rep with the one you recorded in the clinic and shows the patient a score. Your staff can review the same session from their own accounts.
From the clinic to the patient's home
Record a reference rep
The patient wears the sleeve and does the exercise with you once. The app saves that rep as the target for their home program.
Each rep is compared with it
When the patient exercises at home, the app lines every rep up against the reference and checks range of motion and tempo.
- Rep 1192
- Rep 1088
- Rep 964
- Rep 895
Rep 9: stopped short of the top.
Scores for the patient and your staff
The patient sees a score after each rep. Your staff can review the whole set, and the app flags reps that scored low.
Following a set in the app
This example shows a set of biceps curls. The app draws the patient's movement in purple over a dashed copy of the reference rep from the clinic.
That was a clean rep with full range, and you lowered it smoothly.
What OrthIQ does
Tracks joint movement
Sensors in the sleeve record how far the joint bends and how smoothly it moves on each rep.
Cues during the set
Patients get cues about form and tempo while they're still exercising.
Your own reference reps
You record a correct rep for each patient and each exercise during a clinic visit.
Tracks the joint all day
Patients can keep the sleeve on after their exercises, and it keeps recording how the joint moves during the day.
Shows progress over weeks
The app saves scores and range of motion from every session, so patients and clinicians can see how those numbers change over time.
Works between visits
Every patient's sessions are in one dashboard, where you can change their program between appointments.
OrthIQ is in development and has not been cleared or approved by the FDA. Movement scores are exercise feedback for patients, and clinicians make every treatment decision.
